London -- a more expensive Toronto

Wellwe made it to London! The plane ride over was a sleepless and uncomfortable six hour fiasco implying a full day of delerium on Friday. We wandered the streets for about 4 hours looking for a place to stay (we did not book anything! silly bums) and finally found something about 25 minutes (walk) from central London.

Observations
- attitudes here are not the friendliest, especially when you're asking girls for directions at 3am
- everything is ridiculously priced (I know I'm cheap, but I'mserious!), $12for a big mac meal (a nice cultural experience), $12 beers/mixed drinks, $25 train rides from the airport to downtown (10 minute ride), $30 cover for a respectable club, but there are free bus rides when you forget to pay
- tourists are all over the place causing ruckus and bumping into you
- girls are not as good looking here as in Toronto
- cops patrolling the main sites carry AK-47s or some type of machine gun

We visited most of the main sites today(saturday), I'll put the photos up when I have the chance, and went out partying last night.

I hope everyoneis doing well back home, and I'm soooo glad I'm not at work right now. Hah.

Here we go

Alright, I'm just starting this journal tonight and getting things prepped for the trip. Currently I feel a little disorganized, and with work finishing the day before the trip, I think I'll be a little rushed to get things together.

If you don't know who I am or why you're here, then you need to be filled in. Me (Mike) and my buddy Danny (herein referred to as Deebo) are headed out to Europe this summer to spend some hard earned cash, see some sites, party with the locals, chill at beaches and cafes, and meet some girls (not necessarily in that order). We're leaving July 29th in the evening and arriving in London the next morning. I hope to keep this site updated with journal entries and photos for friends, family and strangers alike. So keep checking back if you have any interest whatsoever in us or our nonsense. The fun ends September 2nd when we fly back (if we make it to Amsterdam)... but I'm sure the memories and stories will last a little longer than that.

As it stands, the plan is as follows -- London, Paris, Barcelona, Ibiza, Nice/Monaco, Interlaken, Bluvenz, Prague, Berlin and Amsterdam. We'll be meeting up with peeps in Bluvenz (cousin Christina and aunt Nora) and I hope to meet up with Foad in Berlin/Amsterdam and Snake in Prague... we'll see if these guys can hook it up with us.
